Waiting On Wednesday (21)

Waiting On Wednesday is a meme where you basically share an upcoming book that you’re excited to read. It’s hosted over at Breaking the Spine by Jill.

The book I’m waiting on today is…: Black City by Elizabeth Richards.

In a city where humans and Darklings are now separated by a high wall and tensions between the two races still simmer after a terrible war, sixteen-year-olds Ash Fisher, a half-blood Darkling, and Natalie Buchanan, a human and the daughter of the Emissary, meet and do the unthinkable--they fall in love.

Bonded by a mysterious connection that causes Ash's long-dormant heart to beat, Ash and Natalie first deny and then struggle to fight their forbidden feelings for each other, knowing if they're caught, they'll be executed--but their feelings are too strong.

When Ash and Natalie then find themselves at the center of a deadly conspiracy that threatens to pull the humans and Darklings back into war, they must make hard choices that could result in both their deaths.

I know what you’re thinking right now: more vampires?! But I think this book will have bring something new to the whole vampire thing. And as long as these vampires won’t sparkle in the sunlight, I’m excited to read about this new twist! I think there’s still a lot left that you can do with vampires, so I’m interested to see what the author adds. Also, that cover is gorgeous! Not gonna lie, at first I only added this to my TBR because of the cover. But I’m glad that they synopsis is actually good too! Winking smile

This book will be released on November 13th, 2012.

  3. Oh great, forbidden love! I have a rocky relationship with books like these. I love reading about forbidden romance but so many books out there just didn't do it right by me. I hope this one does!

    Great pick, Aneeqah :D

  4. I absolutely adore vampire tales, so something that is a little different, is exactly the kind of thing I like.

I've seen this around and it's even on my Wishlist, but I've never read the blurb properly. Truthfully, I think I added it because of the pretty cover! :)

Still, I like the sound of this and it sounds a little dark and torturous love, but at least we'll be able to get our hands on this soon! :)

    Great pick, Aneeqah!

  8. I'm so looking forward to this one! I've seen some great reviews for it, and those have made me even more excited to read it! It sounds like it'll give us another twist on a traditional vampire story. The cover is what drew me in at first too, I love it.
