Waiting On Wednesday is a meme where you basically share an upcoming book that you’re excited to read. It’s hosted over at Breaking the Spine by Jill.
The book I’m waiting on today is: 17 & Gone by Nova Ren Suma.

Seventeen-year-old Lauren is having visions of girls who have gone missing. And all these girls have just one thing in common—they are 17 and gone without a trace. As Lauren struggles to shake these waking nightmares, impossible questions demand urgent answers: Why are the girls speaking to Lauren? How can she help them? And… is she next? As Lauren searches for clues, everything begins to unravel, and when a brush with death lands her in the hospital, a shocking truth emerges, changing everything.
With complexity and richness, Nova Ren Suma serves up a beautiful, visual, fresh interpretation of what it means to be lost.
First things first, let’s admire that cover for a bit. *drools* Being a graphic designer myself (not a very good one, albeit) I can totally appreciate all the awesome layering and effects that were done on the cover. I love all the different layering, especially with the text from what seems to be newspaper articles. It’s fantastically done! The cover designers outdid themselves with this one. Not only that, but I love the sound of this mystery. If the MC ends up in a hospital, then it totally means that this mystery is seriously dangerous. And that last line? Totally has me sold.
This book will be released on March 21st, 2013.
I can't wait to reed this one. I think the cover is stunning and that's what drew me in but the mystery definitely has me hooked. Great WoW pick!

I love the sound of this one, but I wasn't exactly a fan of Suma's debut. It was strange and a little out-there, which wasn't bad, but a little too much for my tastes. I think I'll wait before I pick this up, if I ever decide to. I can't wait to see what you think, though, Aneeqah! It certainly has an intriguing premise.
ReplyDelete*drools with Aneeqah* HECK YES THAT COVER IS BEAUTIFUL. The cover alone has got my attention. :P But the mystery and thriller feeling to this book is seriously the attention-getter. That last line has me sold, too! This one sounds amazing, great pick this week! Hope you get to read it soon :)
ReplyDeleteI agree, this is one awesome cover and one that I am really excited for. Great choice.

ReplyDeleteI love your pick this week Aneeqah, I've had my eye on this book for sometime too, the cover is absolutely stunning, but also the premise sounds so promising too! I can't wait for March to hurry up already! :)
ReplyDeleteI saw this one also just a few days ago I just love that cover! I didn't even notice all of the special effects until you brought them up I TOTALLY AGREE. I mean, those colors are just SO complex and prettifull! AND the book also sounds super creepy :D
ReplyDeleteAwesome choice Aneeqah!
I really want to read this too! It sounds fantastic. I can't really see covers too well online sometimes, but now that you're pointing things out...very cool!
ReplyDeleteThe cover really is gorgeous! It's amazing how much you can miss in a cover until someone points it out. It's much more detailed than I first thought. The premise sounds wonderful too. Wonderful pick, Aneeqah! :)
